Liam’s Nursery

Description

Baby room for my first grandchild

Design Inspiration

I can't get over all of the fantastic nursery bedding and furniture.  A geat improvement from 20+ years ago.  I knew I wanted a soft blue/brown combination and couldn't believe my luck when I found the bedding online.  From Walmart!

Decorating Style

Modern and contemporary with clean lines and comfortable furnishings

Project Details

I just loved having a real baby room to play with.  Babies grow so fast and I enjoyed having the opportunity to create a nursery.  I considered doing something less "baby-like" given that my taste runs towards contemporary furniture and neutral colors but I know from experience that babies don't stay babies for long and you don't often get the chance to make a baby room.

Favorite Items

I just love the tree over the crib!  Putting that up took hours and was a real labor of love!  I really enjoyed making the letters that hang on the wall above the crib.

Advice

Shop around and be creative.  I used things I already had in the house and they looked fresh and new in Liam's room. I priced letters and decided to paint them myself which turned out to be really fun.

I love the monkey wall decals with the trees. Where did you get them from?

You did a fantastic job on the room! I love the bedding, but was unable to find it on Walmart’s website. Do you have the name of the bedding set?

I had the canvas on hand already but you can purchase them from Michael’s.  I bought fabric that matched our bedding and used a staple gun to attach it to the canvas.  Super easy and took less than ten minutes… : )
