Description
Leo's nursery was designed to be a serene and sophisticated space that used texture rather than colour. Lots of white with timber and touches of copper and dusty blue.
Design Inspiration
This is my 3rd little boy (and the last baby!), so I wanted to go out with a bang (you can see the design board I completed if Leo had been a girl on my blog)! The concept for Leo's nursery was created even before I fell pregnant with him....I'd been working with with lots of monochrome for other clients (and my eldest sons room) and I just wanted something different. Something that clients weren't asking for. As a nursery and childrens room designer, I think it's so important to showcase alternatives to what clients are asking for, in your own home.
Decorating Style
I love so many different design styles, but with Leo's room I wanted a touch of glamour. I wanted it to be soft, but still masculine (which is why texture was added).

Favorite Items
It's a toss up between the chair and the DIY handles (the most expensive and the least expensive in the room!). The chair is the most perfect one for a nursery (and I should know, I wasted my time with 2 others for my older boys!).
Advice
You don't have to follow trends! Just because monochrome for boys and pink, mint and gold for girls are HUGE right now, you don't have to use them for your room! Do what you love and make it unique.
This is more for the mom and not the child. Babies like something to look at and attract their attention. A little color might stimulate the brain.

Love the rocking chair, dresser pulls, felt banner and touches of copper!
