Project Details

My inspiration for this room was many of the nurseries I began seeing on ProjectNursery with pink and cream/taupe color schemes. And many of the antique french limoges plates and french la mode prints I have collected. The crib, dresser and glider were all purchased from babies 'r us, the glider is in a custom taupe color and the furniture is an oyster shell. The ceiling we painted Pink Ballet Slipper by Glidden and the walls are a lighter shade of a taupe even though it looks a bit yellow/cream from the pictures. The pink rug is by Land of Nod. The curtains were purchased from Target. The coffee filter wreath was a DIY by my sister for our shower; inspiration from pinterest. The plates were all collected by me as well as the oval pictures by the bookcase and the prints in the large gilt frames above the dresser. The bookcase was mine as a child which my husband refurbished and painted a very light shade of pink. Everything else was either mine or gifts to the new baby!

Favorite Items

I couldn't pick just one, but I have pride in my antique plates and I think they turned out the way I wanted in the end. I also love the pictures above the dresser. Overall, every piece has its place and the room wouldn't be complete without each one!

Advice

Start looking early, collect pieces that speak to you and that you could envision in your dream room. Think through how you want it before you start and it will all come together as your dream room!

So elegant. I love the soft yellowish hues. Makes me wonder how it looks like in natural light, though.
