Kyle and Geo’s Nautical Boys Bedroom

Description

We had a bit of a challenge with the size of the room, and the furniture the parents chose for the bedroom.   There was a fine line between making the room look like it is all furniture or letting the bold colors pop against the walls.  There was also enough going on with the fabrics we chose for the room, so we opted for solid walls.

Design Inspiration

We knew we were going with a nautical theme, and the fabrics for the bedding, window treatments and lighting was beautiful and unique.  I felt it would work well with the navy furniture.  The room has a different twist to the usual nautical boats.  Plus, I knew the window treatment was going to steal the show.

Decorating Style

A mix of traditional, eclectic and modern.  This space has bold colors yet the bedding and decor is traditional.

The window treatment is so chic and makes a statement in the room!

Advice

When decorating, Use one wall as the focal point of the room and make it pop!

This room is very age-appropriate and theme really suits boys. Love the bunk bed, the lifesavers, and the sailor's wheel.
