Katelyn’s Flutter of Butterfies

Description

High chair rail, two shades of pink, dark brown furniture and lots of butterflies.

Design Inspiration

I have always dreamed of my first child being a girl and having the perfect pink room.  My inspiration of her theme is from my grandmother, she had a LOVE for butterflies.  My grandmother passed away in January of 2009 and I always believe our loved ones come back to us in some form of nature.  During my pregnancy and whenever I was outside, a butterfly always seemed to be there when I needed it the most.  What was SO inspiring, one in particular continued to flutter around me and landed right on my finger (which we know rarely happens).  I just knew this was a sign to have a butterfly theme in my daughter's room.  :o)

Decorating Style

My decorating style is contemporary and casual.  I want something that is inviting and comfortable.

Project Details

The bedding and rocker (with matching ottoman) is from Babies R Us by Carter's and all the accessories (rug, lamp, mobile and etc).

The furniture is by Munire and purchased it at "Georgia Baby & Kids," in Atlanta, Georgia.

I would recommend to hire a contractor to install the high chair rail (my husband and I did that, it was not that expensive).

Favorite Items

I LOVE everything in Katelyn's room.  But if I have to pick a favorite item, it would be the black/white butterfly picture on her dresser/changing table.  This is the butterfly who landed on my finger while I was pregnant. :o)

    Hi!

Very cute! Could I ask what brand and paint color the lighter pink color is on top? Where did you get it?

    Thanks!

I think the pink and dark brown color scheme is really beautiful and it fits the room perfectly. The furniture pieces all look very elegant. The room, overall, is simple, but it looks really classy and beautiful.
