Description
Joanna's nursery is all about Super Heros! I want her to grow up to be strong and feminine, and I admit, I was tired of seeing bird themed rooms, my older daughter's included. It was so hard finding Super Hero items that weren't boy specific, so this room emerged after a lot of searching and patience.
Design Inspiration
With my older daughter, I went the traditional route with lots of pinks and oranges, and her big girl room is dedicated to all things birds. When I found out I was pregnant with another girl, I wanted to explore the other side of girldom, the tough yet feminine side of being a woman.
Decorating Style
We tried to stick with clean lines and basic colors, blue, red, yellow. In order to balance out the themed room concept, we went with basic gray walls, I didn't want to overwhelm the space with color. We also had to pick pieces that were functional and didn't take up much space as this room is the smallest in our home, 10x11.

Favorite Items
My favorite items in the room are the city scape surrounded by Super Heros, because as she grows, so will her collection.
Advice
Don't force it! It felt like it took forever for the room to come together, and we're not done. I wanted to make sure that the room felt comfortable and that we found just the right pieces.
The shelf with the little figurines and the silhouette of the city looks really cute.
Awesome!!!!
