Jessie’s Girly Playroom

Description

Jessie wanted a girly, fun space to do homework and play. She is a talented artist, so she needed a place to create and display her work. The playroom is connected to her bedroom so they two spaces relate to each other through the use of paint and pattern.

Design Inspiration

My inspiration was Jessie. She is a girly girl and wanted a space to reflect her personality. I used the window treatments from Pottery Barn Kids to inspire the wall flowers and the color scheme

Decorating Style

I love anything pretty and vintage. I also love taking something old and re-purposing it. I am drawn to pastel colors inspired by the ocean and floral anything.

Project Details

There is not a lot of furniture in the space, it is all from Ikea. The chalkboard is a DIY project. I add a personal touch to every space I create for children. The flowers were hand painted by me. I also created the 'PLAY' blocks and the cupcake art.

Favorite Items

I think my favourite item in the space is the chalkboard above the desk. It is perfect for Jessie, who is quite the artist.

Advice

Find one item you love, whether it is bedding or a fabric for window treatments and pull your inspiration from there.

Sarah, Where did you find the storage boxes. I love them and that is the color of my little girls room. I am in the US.

Hi Christina,

I bought them at Homesense which, I believe, is similar to Home Goods.
