Jackson’s Vintage Mother Goose Nursery

Description

It all started with a $10 vintage Humpty Dumpty lamp found while browsing on Ebay. At that point, I had the nursery theme for my baby-to-be before I even knew that he was a boy. I spent lots of time during my early pregnancy searching flea markets and online sites for vintage prints, furniture and accessories to add to the room. Custom bedding in soft primary colors and matching frames for all prints brought cohesion to the room. Finally, my mother-in-law tied everything together with a custom hand-painted Mother Goose mural based on a vintage book cover.

Advice

Take your time! Find one thing that inspires you and then some time to put the room together around that piece. Think outside of the box - pull furniture and accessories from unexpected places (an old kitchen cupboard in the nursery) and you will have a unique room that makes you smile every time you walk into it!

You have to forgive me if I gush about this room.  Mother Goose is very special to me as it is what my dad used to read to me when I was a kid.  Plus, I think that you did this room very beautifully.  So, I really like to thank you for sharing this room.  I think that your design inspiration worked out great and this room looks like a lot of love has been put into it!

Did you do the murals yourself?  I love it.  I think that it's what makes this room come alive.  I have always been hesitant about using murals in my rooms... but seeing this made me want to copy it!  do you think a mural would look tacky in an adult or teen's room?
