Description
I had the honor of designing Isaac's nursery for my great friends Jennifer and Jeff. They wanted something bright and fun in their small space, but not too baby. And it had to be a little bit nerdy too. Not many kids have the formula for gravity on their wall! His room really did make me smarter.
Design Inspiration
Isaac was named after Isaac Newton and Nikola Tesla. The brilliant scientists/engineers. So, the inspiration for the art in the room needed to be smart. The color combination came from a great shirt that Jennifer and I saw when online shopping.
Decorating Style
Eclectic, Affordable, Clean and Modern. Keeping within budget was important so we tried to make and do as much as we could.

Favorite Items
The baby Newton print with the apple falling. I was playing around with a variation of Newton under the apple tree and decided to simplify it and make it more modern. I love it because it is clean and cute!
Advice
After you pick the main theme, use craigslist, garage sales and second hand stores to find core pieces. As long as the shape is right, you can alter it to fit the space. And if you can recruit family and friends to help you transform some of the items it makes it even more special!
Very happy nursery! I love the “Team Tesla” print!
Colorful and funky nursery! The birth record is pretty adorable, too.
