A hip, and stylish girlie retreat !
Project Nursery Stalking :)
And Restoration Hardware Baby & Child italian bedding !
My personal style which reflects throughout my home is -modern with splashes of vibrant color. For Imaan's nursery, i chose pink - however i di'n't want it to be predictable and overly girly. I wanted something elegant and stylish so i accented an understated pink with chocolate and my favorite polka dots :)
I first started out with the bedding and then took it from there. I loved the pink and chocolate line from Baby & Child Restoration Hardware. Its a little pricey but over the years i've learnt the value of good sheets.
DIY - I couldn't find a rocking horse in my colors so i went to Micheal's, bought a wooden horse and sanded, primed and painted it :) And viola ! The leaning bookcase was also bought in pink and painted chocolate !
I skipped the traditional glider and went for a leather rocker/recliner. I also skipped nursery art and used imaan's ultrasound and new born portraits instead.

I think it has to be between the decal and the chandelier !
It's very easy to get distracted (read:overwhelmed)with all the bells and whistles in the baby decor world. So, choose your color palette first. Next, decide on what your focal point in the room should be. Once you have these 2 things established - you work around it. Accent wisely. That's the key. Try to stay away from the over decorating trap -Otherwise called clutter !
