Living in Hawaii in Military Housing and expecting our first, I wanted to create a chill nursery for our little one that he could grow into and make his own. I started with a beautiful rug of blues, kept the furniture and accessories neutral with cool tones, and chose to mix woods and metals. For a fun accent wall that’s easy to do, temporary, yet impactful, I selected a simple wave pattern to embrace the ocean. I recommend choosing classic simple pieces that could be suited to future tastes whether your little one grows to like travel, space, dinosaurs or what have you. For artwork, I selected simple prints hung with wooden bars that can be switched out, a funky artist’s whale drawing, a custom namesake sign, and a changeable letter board for fun quotes. I sourced items from shops that were locally available or would ship to our island.
