Hazel’s books and birds nursery

Description

A grey, pink, and teal nursery with animal accents for our first child.

Design Inspiration

We looked at a lot of nursery ideas and knew we wanted a focus on books and animals.  We initially started with a focus on birds, which is where the idea to make the bird mobile came from.  Then we decided to add other animal touches like the deer head, pictures of my husband's childhood stuffed animals, and the wall decals.

We also knew we wanted to create a reading corner, so we added shelves and our friends and family helped build Hazel's library.

Decorating Style

We tend to like clean lines and modern touches.  We tried to bring that influence to the room while adding some whimsy.

Favorite Items

We love the deer head from Etsy.  It's cute and quirky.  We also love the bird mobile.  It took a lot of time to make, but was worth it.

Advice

Take your time and don't over think it.  We just kind of went with the flow and found random things we liked and it al came together.

The dog head is uber cute!!! I'd choose that over a fancy deer head!
