Description
Our sweet Harrion's Very Hungry Caterpillar first birthday party!
Design Inspiration
"The Very Hungry Caterpillar" has always been one of my kids favorite books, so it made sense that we would turn the book into a party theme! It was colorful, fun and surprisingly did not break the bank:)
Decorating Style
Fun, colorful & vibrant.
Project Details
We used the book for our menu. Each food that was in the book was at the party. Food tent cards pulled it all together because they referred back to the story.
My talented mother designed the delicious cake which was a combination of images found on the web and our own ideas. She also made the high chair bunting, his birthday hat, and the bunting for the food-table.
Since I am a photographer, I displayed Harrison's monthly pictures- which was amazing to see how much he's changed!
Favorite Items
Besides the birthday boy? The cake!
Advice
We had the food that was in the book, but it was inexpensive items for the most part. Many of the items were handmade, such as the buntings (burlap from Hobby Lobby and fabric ordered online).
That is one of the most amazing cakes I’ve ever seen!
This is so cute! Love these pictures!
Great ideas! I am doing the rag banner for the wooden high chair and can’t figure out how to clip the banner to the wooden tray. Any suggestions???
Is this your son? This is just really weird because my son’s name is Harrison and we are throwing A Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday for him next month. haha I found your vlog via pinterest after searching for Hungry Caterpillar birthday stuff and I saw the name Harrison :-D
Where did you get the rag banner? Would love to buy this if I can find it!!
I love everything but would love to know where you got the food tent printables. Having a hard time finding them. =)
Where can I purchase the caterpillar birthday hat?
