Description

A mint, pink and coral vintage chic nursery for our baby girl Harper. After going into preterm labor unexpectedly and delivering at 27 weeks, life was became a bit chaotic. Creating a beautiful nursery became the one thing I felt could still turn out as planned. After visiting my baby girl in the NICU, I would come home and paint (and paint, and paint), plan, and work on things to create a lovely room for her to come home to. It was my therapy.

Design Inspiration

It took me forever to decide on colors for the nursery, but once I came across this fabric and this inspiration room on Pinterest, I fell in love. The crib skirt fabric is Caitlin Wilson’s Mint Fleur Chinoise, and it set the tone for the whole room. I custom-ordered the crib skirt, changing pad cover, and pillow cover on Etsy.

Decorating Style

I don't know that I really have a certain style. My home had pretty contemporary décor, which I have been gradually swapping out for more country style décor. I just enjoy pieces that I love and think are pretty!

Favorite Items

The crib skirt is my favorite item. I custom ordered the skirt (along with the pillow and changing pad cover). It's designer fabric, so it was a splurge for me, but so worth it! I also love the mint dresser/changing table.

Advice

A lot of these pieces were given a second life with a coat of paint or a new slipcover. See the potential in secondhand furniture! A little elbow grease can save a lot of money.

I have French provincial furniture just like this. What color mint did you use? Did you use oil based paint? Also what color did you use on the hardware? Did you need to prime it?

    Thanks in advance!
