Harper’s Haven

Description

A perfect blend of purple and gray with a splash of yellow.  And of course, OWLS!!!!

Design Inspiration

My inspiration was from a baby gift from my cousin McKenzie.  It was an alphabet set printed on 8x10 card stock with creative animals for each letter.  The P was my favorite- it was purple and gray!  I fell in love with it.  I obsessed over how much I loved the two colors together.  This room had already been decorated in PINK.  I had to return all the pretty pink stuff to get the purple/gray theme in full gear!

Decorating Style

The style is...Random?  I just wanted something simple, easy to keep clean, lots of storage, and a few great patterns to really set the room off!!

Project Details

The crib is from Target.

The bed skirt, butterflies, wall alphabet,  purple fitted sheet, and grey receiving blanket are all from Pottery Barn Kids.

The purple iron owl is from an etsy seller :  yellowumbrellashop

The purple elephant in the crib is from etsy seller: precious knits

The bumper was purchased on etsy here is the seller :rockytopdesign  -http://www.etsy.com/shop/RockyTopDesign?ref=seller_info

The stuffed owl and bunny in her crib are from pier one.

The other furniture was so sweetly given to my from my aunt to re paint myself with a color called Annapolis Gray from Benjamin Moore.

The room is painted with iron gate - from Sherman Williams.

The fingerprint tree was a gift from my cousin, McKenzie at my shower so all my guests could make their prints the leaves on the tree!  So creative!  She found it on www.Etsy.com

I painted the "You are my sunshine paintings"  and the "Purple Paisley" small paintings.   You can purchase them from my etsy store.  Just search BirminghamBell as the seller!

The fabulous curtains were maid by my future mother in law. She did a GREAT job!  I found the fabric and Hancock Fabrics, as well as blackout fabric to add!

Favorite Items

My two favorite items are my crib bumper and my stuffed owl that watches over Harper at night!  :)

Advice

Don't be scared when you see the paint is dark!  It looks awesome once you start adding other things!  Make the art yourself with stencils and that way you can toot your own horn when people tell you how awesome the nursery looks!!!  :)  Don't be afraid to sneak in as many owls as you can without your significant other knowing!!

Those purple paisley artworks on the wall give a charming touch to the room. Too bad, though, your photos are kinda blurry.
