Description
Hadley’s “Not-So-Nursery” Nursery
Design Inspiration
My inspiration grew out of the rocker chair my husband and I found at ACC in Santa Fe before I was even pregnant. I just loved the pattern of the chair. From there, I wanted a room Hadley could grow into and wasn’t the stereotypical pale pink and cream that had an overwhelming “baby” feel. I also wanted the room full of fun colors and personal touches.

Project Details
When planning the nursery, I knew that I wanted to have a hand in everything, from the furniture to the bedding to the walls. We started with paisley wallpaper on the ceiling and pulled some of the colors out of the wallpaper and carried them over to the fabrics. My Grandmother and I hand-made each piece of the crib bedding and daybed bedding. I twice bought out our local craft store’s ribbon collection and hand tied each piece of ribbon around the canopy. My Mother hand painted the changing table/dresser. The bookshelf was painted by my Husband and I covered the shelved in the wallpaper from the ceiling. The wall art was painted by an artist from Essex who I found on Etsy. We hope the fairies bring a magical and inspirational aura to our new daughter’s room.

Love that dresser and mirror, and that daybed, too. The side table is also simply gorgeous, with its color and its painted drawers!
