Greyson’s “Brave Little Man” Nursery

Description

This nursery has a "Brave Little Man" theme. I wanted it to be subtle, but distinctive. For example, there are multiple arrow designs throughout the room, both on decals and in the framed prints, etc. The words described in various pieces of the decor reflect a theme of bravery, courage and strength. With the addition of a few added patterns such as herringbone and geometric triangles, it added a little something extra to the space.

Design Inspiration

I wanted to create a space that caters to an infant, but also remains boyish and masculine as he gets a little older. The room has features perfect for a baby, while including decor and colors that are more mature.

Decorating Style

I try to be creative and unique when decorating spaces, so I don't fall into the trap of just sticking with current trends. I love seeing room designs that go against the grain and add in special touches people may not have ever thought to have in the room. I enjoy seeking out one-of-a-kind items, and/or pieces that can be customized to fit with the theme or vision I have in mind.

Favorite Items

It's hard to choose just one item that's my favorite, but I would see my top couple are the large rustic monogram letter "G" hanging above the crib, and the scripture verses framed above it as well. They compliment the theme so well, and hold special meaning.

Advice

If you find yourself getting overwhelmed by too many color options, or decorative pieces, take a step back and start fresh. Don't underestimate your own creative ability. You probably have more ideas of your own than you think you do. :)
