Green, Blue & Gray Elephant Themed Nursery

Description

A elephant themed nursery for our first baby boy, Camden. We had wanted an elephant-theme and found the Skip Hop Elephant theme set.

Design Inspiration

Planning the nursery for Camden’s arrival was a really fun experience. I had a vision for a soft-blue color and saw some examples on Pinterest that used stripes as a background to the crib. I really liked the look of soft stripes, so we decided to do this.

The second part of the theme I wanted was elephants. I love elephants – they are just too cute. I found a Skip Hop elephant theme bedding and based the colour scheme of the nursery off of this bedding. We got the matching decals and blanket to go with it.

Favorite Items

I absolutely love the barn board my dad created for the nursery. This barn board was taken and built from actual barn board on my family farm. My dad sanded it down and I added the Skip Hop decals to it.

Advice

Start with a color palette you like and work your way from there. Choosing 3 colors gives you a lot of flexibility. You can also have neutral understones. Then add in some fun and personal touches!
