Green room with a big world map to show my child where live his familly (my husband is chinese and I am French)
Design Inspiration
I wanted a green room, a room with an animal and travel theme.
Decorating Style
No style... I just put things I liked together. The room being really green I wanted the furniture white....and many colors from different fabrics
Project Details
I bought three kind of fabrics and made everything from it : curtains, bumper, shelves cover....
Favorite Items
The little mobile made out of small Totoro figurines bought in Japan. I also brought back a lot of objects from different countries like the elephant, the small Arch ...
Advice
Take your time, it took me 4 months to finish everything and make sure that the room had the look I liked at every step

I have to echo what Avalon said. You have come up with an amazing idea to introduce your child to his different cultural or racial roots.Doing this early on will help him be secure and proud of his identity, and this will be very helpful in the long run.

I love the big world map and little animal magnets idea. I think it's a great and creative way of introducing your son's mixed race and multi-cultural roots. And it's neat that you added stuff from various other countries to complete your around-the-world theme. I am actually drooling over those cute Totoro figurines. I love Totoro!
