Genie: Make a WISH Birthday Party Theme

Description

For my oldest daughter's Genie: Make a Wish Birthday Party, we decided to do a fun "Your wish is my Command" spin and make it all about magical wishes and wishes coming true.

After we decided on this theme, I knew I needed to have Loralee Lewis to design and create the paper collection because I knew she could bring my vision to life and help me build and create this theme! Loralee created the most beautiful collection for this theme! We wanted the genie lamp to be the main focus throughout this theme and we also used our favorite Moroccan elements to bring this theme together.

Design Inspiration

We tried to stay away from the typical bright colors that Moroccan themes are known for and took a more sweet and lighter color palette approach. Our color scheme was various shades of pinks, with gold and touches of mint which made it really soft and gave it that magical touch and feeling.

Decorating Style

Traditional with sweet little touches throughout the theme

Favorite Items

One of my favorite things that we did for this party was the custom harem/genie dress for my daughter, paint the backdrop in a well known Moroccan pattern, using Moroccan lanterns, and tea lights, genie lamp wooden cute outs, and making a kids Moroccan table and it's setting!
This all in all turned out to be a magical party and it granted many wishes too!

Advice

When picking a theme or design that everyone knows or has seen in a specific color scheme, try to play with it and change it up and make it your own! Put you own style stamp on it!

[…] Genie: Make a WISH Birthday Party Theme by Fanciful Events Pam, of Project Nursery, says, “I love the Moroccan influence here and appreciate that instead of going with the bold, bright colors usually associated with this country, the palette is soft pinks and gold—it’s much more appropriate for a girl’s party. The colors are soft and feminine and tie together magically, like a genie was really there!” […]
