We moved into a new home and wanted to create a space for Finn that is boyish yet fun and vibrant. Finn has cortical visual impairment which limits his eye sight. He can see contrasting colors very well, and what's more contrasting than black and white?
My inspiration for Finn's nursery was black and white, and woodland creatures.
The first item purchased for the nursery was the crib, from amazon.com. Dresser, light fixture and floating bookshelf is from IKEA. Rug, curtain rod finials and bear bank are from Urban Outfitters. Curtains, lamp, fox figurine, black and white basket from Target. Wallpaper from Ferm Living. Wolf bookends from Design Atelier Article. Moose head from Zgallerie. Replica Eames Rocker from amazon. Mobile, handmade by me, tutorial coming soon to blog. Mountain pillow from Juniper Wilde. Fox and raccoon print from Style Hatch Prints. Letter print, mountain print, and rugged and manly print from Olive + Birch. Bjorn the woodsman print from Roxy Marj. Triangle pillows and antler crib sheet custom made from Carly Megan Shop. Triangle quilt handmade by me. Grand Tetons Mountain photograph by Ansel Adams. Foxes and garland print from Ashmae. Felt ball garland made by me.
My favorite item from Finn's nursery is probably the Ferm Living wallpaper, and his rocker, and the book ends. Sorry, I can't choose just one.
I realized when putting his nursery together that simple is better. Keep it simple and clean and choose items you truly love and it will mean so much more.
