Emilee’s 2nd Birthday Fiesta

Description

I thought for sure I was throwing Emilee a strawberry party this year but when I saw a fiesta invite on Instagram from River & Bridge well I just knew it was meant to be. I'm all for throwing kids' parties with themes you want until they can ask for a theme themselves. Em LOVES anything Frozen but I knew if I threw the Frozen party now there was no explaining to a 3 or 4 year old Emilee that "we already did that," So I'm saving Anna and Elsa for the year she actually asks for them. Which I know she will.

Design Inspiration

My girlfriend found these amazing HUGE paper flowers from Paper Source and I was off and running. I didn't think I could love a party more than E's first birthday but I think this one definitely topped it. The colors were so bright and fun and just looking at them made me happy.

Project Details

I found the tissue paper backdrop tutorial on Pinterest. It was so easy to do - I call it mindless crafting.

The favor buckets I scored at Michael's for 70% off! We filled them with delicious sugar cookies, bubbles, play-doh, a crazy straw, and some maracas. The adults got to take home sugar cookies as well.

Favorite Items

The pineapple vases were my favorite part. This was my first time doing florals all on my own since my "florist" (and best friend) was 38 weeks pregnant at the time. There was some stress the day before but I definitely think they turned out great - just exactly as I imagined them.

A close second would have to be the mini pinatas I found on Amazon. A can of gold spray paint took them from good to great in about 20 minutes flat.
