Elliot’s DIY Dr. Seuss Nursery

We wanted a fun, Dr. Seuss themed nursery that would grow with our baby, but we didn't want to use any of the pre made Dr. Seuss stuff that's on the market. We also didn't want to spend more than $1000.

Design Inspiration

The room was completely inspired by the Dr. Seuss quote, "A person's a person no matter how small"

Project Details

The Entire room was created for only $1056 (that includes the cost of furniture!)

The crib and dresser are both from Stork Craft and were about $150 each.

The Bookshelf is from Target.

The Recliner came from a local furniture store

The paint we used was Bher in Oh So Red and Caribbean Blue. We took a Dr. Seuss book to the paint store to match the perfect shades.

The letters in his name above the crib are from Etsy Seller Ashley P. Her shop is called Snicklefritzs! Check her out!

The quote decals are from Etsy Seller Ten23Designs and were super affordable!

All the art was hand painted by me. (I had no idea I had any artistic ability until I tried!!)

The curtains are from Walmart!

The fish and the tissue paper pom poms were decorations at the shower my family threw, and I repurposed them in the room because I wanted to honor the hard work they put into my shower.

Favorite Items

My favorite Item is definitely the red recliner. I searched all over the web for the perfect chair but couldn't find one under $800. We managed to find this recliner at a furniture store that was going out of business and we only paid $200!

Check out Etsy for inspiration, but create everything you can yourself! You might be surprised what you can do when you set your mind to it. =)

Alicia, I've seen a lot of Dr. Seuss inspired nurseries on PN, but this one is the most colorful. Definitely one of the best! I have a question about the bookshelf, though, did you add those storage drawers or did it come with it?
