Ellie’s DIY Nursery

Description

A colorful DIY nursery design with love and a tight budget. It may not be the perfect nursery, but I put so much of myself in this project for my first baby. Probably why I love it so much...

Design Inspiration

I really like bright colors so I knew I want some yellow and aqua. My husband purchased the orange carpet before I told him what color I wanted for the room. So I had to build the room around the carpet which I found really hard.

Project Details

The room in total cost me about $500 for the furniture, textile, paint, etc... I purchase the crib and the rockingchair on kijiji for almost nothing. The dresser and the nightstand were from my husband bedroom set when he was a little boy. I already owned the IKEA shelf over the crib.

DIY projects:

  • Curtains
  • Pouf and cushions of the rocking chair
  • Mobile
  • Magnetic board over the changing table
  • Paint the crib, dresser and nightstand
  • Sign on the door
  • Quilt and crib skirt
  • Laundry hamper
  • Small shelves

I never used a sewing machine before, so I'm surprised at the results of my work!

Favorite Items

I have to many favorite items, but I think it's the quilt because I put so much work on it.
