Dominic’s Baby Blue Sailor Nursery

Description

A classic baby blue nursery which celebrates the traditional nautical theme. The different shades of blue on the walls and grey in the furniture are brought together in the bedding. Sailor accents are showcased in the bumper, mobile, flag bunting, and wall decal. Daddy's favorite European soccer team is represented with a baby jersey and banner over the changing table.

Design Inspiration

My inspiration for my nursery was the sailor bedding set. I also knew I wanted baby blue as the main color and furniture from RH Baby & Child.

Decorating Style

Transitional, calming, shabby chic, comfortable, eclectic

I love the glider with the moroccan pouf and custom closet!

Advice

I like to mix good quality pieces (like the furniture) with inexpensive accents, like the curtains and wall decal. Never purchase all the furniture pieces from the same store, mix it up!

I am thinking about ordering a similar pouf- how has it held up as an ottoman to your glider?

Great job! I especially love your furniture pieces. I'm actually looking at the same glider for my son's nursery and I was wondering if you found it comfortable, etc.? Also, do you find that it looks big in your room? Our nursery room isn't huge and by measurement the chair would fit but I'm wondering if it will look really big. Thanks! Love the nautical idea!

The combination of blues, whites and grays makes this space look so clean, crisp, cool, and calming! And that soft sailor mobile is very cute, too.

I love Dominic nursery! The light blue is so soothing. I did my grandson's room in a nautical theme also. I am going to post as soon as I get around to taking pic. Just a suggestion....if you start the end of your bumper pad in the corner of the crib...it will end in the corner and fit better. The picture of him above the bookshelf is adorable!
