When my husband and I found out we were pregnant with a little girl last year, we were over the moon! Becoming parents was something we had been talking and dreaming about for a while, and we were so excited it was finally becoming a reality!
I’ve always been passionate about home design and decor, so naturally I began working on the nursery right away. I wanted a space that was classic, clean and not too “baby-ish”. Furniture and decor can get expensive and I didn’t want to completely start over in a few years once she was older.
Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware are my favorite stores to shop for my home, so that is where I found most of the things for the nursery. I didn’t mind spending a little extra on the furniture since the crib turns into a full size bed and the changing table doubles as a dresser. The chair is so comfortable and I am so glad I have it during those 2 AM feedings! The other decor and bedding I bought on sale and with coupons. Both of these stores constantly run promos online so there is no need to ever pay full price!
My favorite thing about Delaney’s nursery is that it is calming, comfortable and just feels like home. The biggest piece of advice I have for expecting moms that are designing a nursery is to make it practical, not just pretty! It should feel like an extension of the rest of your home- you will spend a lot of time in there!
Hope you’ve enjoyed taking a look at my space!
