Description
My goal was to create a soft and sweet nursery that still maintained a level of sophistication that matched the rest of the house. I had a general idea in my head, but it came together over several months and I can't wait to bring our new son home to his room.
Design Inspiration
I knew I wanted a soft blue and green palate, but the addition of the different types of animals just happened. I planned to work with a decorator for the cornice boxes, but ended up making them myself out of foam board.
Decorating Style
I tend to use a transitional style to decorate with elements of mid-century or regency style. I think the nursery is more traditional than other parts of the house, but it just felt like the right style for the nursery.

I just love the soft and muted colors you used, especially the pale green. I also like the elephants and giraffes. Is that an elephant-shaped storage bin beside the changing table? Where did you get that? It’s so cute!
Hi,
It’s actually an elephant laundry hamper. I got it at Home Decorators Collection. Here is the link: http://www.homedecorators.com/detail.php?parentid=46892&aid=froogle&CAWELAID=87072988
This nursery is simple, beautiful and classy. I like how spacious it is. You didn’t overdo your decor, so it’s got plenty of space to breathe in. I like that monogrammed pillow on the glider, by the way.
IngridCalloway,
Thank you!
Looks very relaxing.
I love the new nursery emily! you did a great job… i love the colors and love all the space you have in the room… congrats on the little one!
Such a classy, sophisticated and peaceful room. Such a lucky little boy.
Best wishes!
LOVE everything, but have to know about the artwork above the dresser! Did you paint that? It’s gorgeous!
Your nursery is so soothing. I adore it. Where did you get the white picture frames that are above your dressing table?
Love it! What is the name of the wall color?
Is the Little Castle glider the Monaco?
Love your room! Where did you get the side table and lamp (by the glider)?
Hi, I’m glad you like the art! Yes, I painted it myself.
I bought the table on onekingslane.com, which is a flash sale site. I actually bought the lamp at Home Goods.
Jamie,
Yes, the glider is the Little Castle Monaco glider. I’m really happy with it. So easy to customize and it’s really comfortable.
Eileen,
Hi, I actually got the frames through the wholesale framer I use. If you’re close to DFW, let me know, they are great and have fabulous prices for custom framing.
What paint color is that? Love this room!
Adorable nursery! Also, I am the mom of a little boy named Beck (it’s my mom’s maiden name), so I LOVE the name! I hope you have as much fun with your Beck as we are having with ours!
Beautiful nursery! What is the paint color? Thanks!
It is so peaceful! Two questions. What is the paint on the wall, and where did you get the scroly L brackets imholding the wall shelves up?
I love your nursery! Where did you get the baskets on the changing table?
What fabric and piping color did you select for your glider?
love it…what is the wall color?
Love the animal theme and soft colours you have used.
This is exactly the look I was envisioning for my nursery! What color is the blue on the walls? It’s the perfect shade.
