Cozy Boy Nursery

Description

This is the nursery for our 4 month old little boy. I had a lot of fun putting it together, finding things here and there. I got a lot of inspiration from Project Nursery!

Design Inspiration

I looked at tons of sites like Project Nursery, Ohhdedoh, Flickr, etc. to get ideas, but then I kind of just ended up doing my own thing and I love how it turned out.

Decorating Style

Cozy and comfy are what I go for. I like a little bit modern and a little bit vintage.

Project Details

We found the crib at Sears for under $200 and I absolutely love it. I wanted one that had the solid back without the slats, but those are always more expensive, so I was so happy with the deal we found. The bedding was made my my mother-in-law. I ordered fabric from Bitty Blossoms and So Fun Fabrics. The changing table was an antique dresser I found on craigslist. All I did was use some Pledge and put new knobs on. It was exactly what I was looking for. The nightstand was a garage sale find that I just painted and changed the knob. The "M" initial knob came from Hobby Lobby (50% off..woo-hoo!). The chair and ottoman are made by Best Chairs and were a gift from some great friends of ours. The wall decals came from Etsy stores, Grey Wolf Graphics, and Tweetheart Art. And the framed wood print came from Petit Collage. I made the heart collage and "M is for Miller" print.

Favorite Items

The changing table is one of my favorite finds, but I love a lot of things in the room. The bedding, photos, chair, etc.

Advice

You don't have to spend a lot of money to have the nursery you want. The most expensive item was the chair & ottoman (which was a gift) and the crib was under $200. I'm a bargain hunter, so everything else was pretty inexpensive.

What size are the photo frames on the wall? 5x7 or 4x6?

I agree, it seems that this room was done by a professional!  Lovely! I particularly like the 12 framed photos you have there as it adds a personal touch to the room.

I love the way that owl and branch just goes out from nowhere.  I love it that you were able to do your own thing, even with getting your initial ideas from Project Nursery and other places.  And judging from the way this room turned out, I'd say that you have the talent :)
