This nursery was designed to be a fun environment that would grow with him. It is classic, livable and functional.
Design Inspiration
Navy and oranges were the inspiration but the client didnt want to go nautical. We found the airplane mobile from Baby and Child and worked the room around that.
Decorating Style
I always make sure the space i livable and can handle every day use from a child. I also like to think beyond the newborn stage, creating spaces that will work from birth through youth.
Project Details
We loved the style and quality found at Restoration Hardware so we bought the furniture from there which includes the crib and changing table. The dresser was a family piece that we had painted a fun blue. We used shelves from Ikea and baskets from land of nod. The rocker was by the manufacturer Lee Furniture and the floor tiles were from FLOR.
Favorite Items
I love the mobile, it is unique and fun but still very classic and grown up.
Advice
It is hard to balance so much color, so stay classic and neutral with major things like the drapes and flooring. Then you can add in more color through the accessories, which are easy to change down the road if you should get bored or want to update the room as the child grows.
