Claire’s Nursery

Description

This is our baby girl Claire's nursery. We really enjoyed decorating it and after having a boy I think I went a little crazy on the pink!

Design Inspiration

I really like to blend old and new when decorating a room. For instance the crib is new but the other furniture is furniture from when I was a little girl. To me this makes a room more unique and special.

Decorating Style

I like white, clean and neutral colors. I want to feel peaceful above all else when walking into a room. I tried to create that while still using pink in this nursery.

Favorite Items

I have two favorite items. The chair and the bedding. I really did not want to spend $800+ dollars on a slipcovered rocking chair but knew I wanted something like that in the room. I found this website that explained how to turn an ikea chair into a rocking chair and it was fantastic! The great thing is that if the chair gets dirty you can just throw the whole slipcover in the washer and if it is stained beyond repair a new slipcover is only $30!

My other favorite item was her bedding. That was my one indulgence. I had it custom made on Etsy with 100% linen. I absolutely love linen bedding and knew I wanted it for Claire. I know it will only last a little while but to me it is so special.

Advice

Take your time. Start early. I spent months and months trying to find pieces and inspiration for her nursery and it still isn't quite "done." But that is ok. If you try to rush it you wont enjoy it.

Soft, feminine and classic. These are the words that came to mind when I saw your nursery.
