Christmas Memories

Description

Christmas Memories was the theme for this party.  It features a red and white chevron print with Christmas memory illustrations, home baked goodies and DIY projects!

Design Inspiration

I gathered up all of my favorite Christmas memories and designed the whole party around them!  Including Christmas trees, Ornaments, Snow, Grandma's Kisses and Wreaths.

Decorating Style

Chic N Cheap!  My goal is always to create something Chic without spending tons of money.   I used items from my home, DIY projects, and baked everything myself!

Project Details

Centerpiece: Crystal light containers are wrapped in scrapbook paper from my Christmas Memories Printable Collection and filled with white hydrangeas.  White, short pillar candles wrapped in the same printable scrapbook paper are scattered among the vases.

Place settings:  I layered white square dishes I already owned between a piece of printable scrapbook paper.  Laying on top is a printable favor box wrapped in green ribbon.  Printable napkin rings surround the red napkins and party circles are slit half way up and slid onto the rim of a glass. Setting the table up in an unexpected place like my living room adds some excitement and a fun backdrop!

Dessert Table:

Ornaments:  Round sugar cookies strung onto a mini tree with red ribbon.

Snow:  Paper cones made from printable scrapbook paper are filled with yogurt covered raisins.  Sweet but healthy!

Christmas Trees:  Brownies in the shape of trees adorned with sprinkles to look like lights were popped onto sucker sticks for a fun treat!

Grandma's Kisses:  Hershey kisses accented with mini printable stickers are sure to melt your heart just as Grandma's Kisses do!

Wreath:  A foam wreath covered in a green plastic tablecloth and green frosted cupcakes is nicely hung from a green stain ribbon.  One of the cutest DIY projects I think I've ever made!  Here is my tutorial if you want to re-create this: http://www.partylikepaula.com/2011/11/cupcake-wreath-tutorial.html

Jake's Shirt:  I took a inexpensive shirt from WalMart and turned it into a custom shirt that he always receives compliments on!

Advice

Always search your house for items to use decor, serving ware, and decor before going out and spending money.  Also try to make as much as you can yourself to save money and add it adds that touch of creativity to your party!

Such sweet-looking little boy! I really admire how you did the details for this party. So appropriate for the season and you can never go wrong with a Christmas theme as it always connotes love, joy, peace, and happiness among family and friends.

I have always liked Christmas-themed parties. I really love the festive combination of reds and greens. And I think it’s great that children associate Christmas with joy and happiness, so it really doubles the birthday fun!

I purchased this package from Etsy/Paula about a month ago. My initial intent was for a holiday party I was hosting for 30 toddlers and their Mommies. Actually, I have used so many of the pieces for other things throughout the holiday season. The party was a hit and everyone remarked at how cute the “kid’s menu” and the “Dear Santa” form were.

Obviously the cute factor was key, but Paula is a DREAM to work with. She is so patient and prompt. I sent some pretty extensive changes to wording on the party circles that I thought were probably confusing. Paula not only understood the chaos that I tried to convey, but she actually made the vision in my head better. Her work is top-notch quality. Printing was a snap!

I purchased a party package for my daughter’s 1st birthday from a big name on Etsy. It did not include 1/2 the items I received with Paula’s package and I paid probably 4x as much. What Paula provided was so much more quality and quantity for the money.

Here is hoping that the birthday, holiday and whatever other kind of parties one might need packages for start popping up on her page. And maybe some stationary, some cards, anything creative.
