Description
Our first girl after three boys, we wanted something girly but clean!
Design Inspiration
I fell in love with the doll dress bedding, and we kind of just took it from there using those colors. I knew I wanted girly, but not too babyish, and something that felt comfortable and clean.
Decorating Style
Clean, comfortable, a touch modern, a touch whimsical, a bit shabby, and a touch vintage.
Project Details
We knew we wanted to go with a lot of white to keep it clean, so after falling in love with the crib, we took our old changing table/dresser that was a blonde wood and painted it white and added new knobs from Anthropologie. The glider was from Target.com. The crib bedding is from Land of Nod, (except the tulle skirt, which is from Target.com). We weren't happy with the look of the bumper pads on the crib, so we cut them up and framed the little doll dresses on the wall. The yellow drawers/canvas bins we already owned, purchased at Home Goods a few years ago. The mirror is about 10 years old and was purchased at Z Gallerie. The pillows are from Pier 1 and Home Goods. Lamp from Target. Sunshine song painting and pom poms are from Etsy. The book shelf is from Land of Nod. Berries on curtains are from Michael's.
Favorite Items
I don't know if I can pick just one item as my favorite! I love it all, and how it blends together while still keeping each thing unique!
I DO love the Sunshine song painting from Etsy. I sing that to my children each night before bedtime, and it's the first song they ever learn.
Advice
Go with what you love. If YOU don't love it, then don't put it in there just because it matches or seems appropriate. I wanted a space that I loved for not only my little girl, but also for me since I'd be spending a lot of time in there too!
Love your nursery…such a modern girl nursery! Also we are naming our little girl Brinley as well! =)
Doublemint, I’m sorry, but I don’t have the name of the paint anymore! I know it was “brick something” or other from Valspar at Lowes. We then customized it and lightened it up about 50%.
I like how clean and uncluttered it looks. I also adore those doll dress frames. I feel like it needs more pops of bright color other than those pompoms though. And oh, congrats on your baby girl!
I really love your nursery. I am not a huge fan of pink, but this is definately something I could handle if I ever have a little girl. What color paint is it? I also love the touches of yellow and the berry tie-backs.
