Bright Gender-Neutral Nursery

Description

A modern and bold room for boy or girl!

Design Inspiration

We really wanted to stay away from pastels and create a more bright, modern room for our baby. We live in a 2-bedroom loft, and since this room may double as a guest room from time to time, we wanted to keep it fun for all ages (and genders).

Decorating Style

Eclectic and laid back, a mix of modern and vintage finds. I like to collect things along the way, as opposed to the "bed in a bag" feel.

Project Details

I frequented etsy for handmade finds, went to a few local vintage bazaars & renegade handmade fairs, as well as ikea, west elm, cb2, Land of Nod, anthropologie, urban outfitters, target and old navy. And of course, I gathered inspiration from Project Nursery and Ohdeedoh.

Favorite Items

The Dream Menagerie Rug from anthropologie has to be my favorite thing in the room, but I also dig the vintage blue mirror over the dresser. And the Abacus. I also love that my childhood changing table made its way into the closet.

Advice

Don't be afraid of bright colors. Follow your gut. Go in with a general concept, but not a "theme" and build from there.

The quilt was made and a gift from my cousin. The bear print is from Delicious Design League and the rocker is Nurseryworks Sleepytime Rocker, from Bobby Berk Home

Beautiful! I love the bear print and your rocker. Where did you find them?

Amazing colors you used here. I never thought you could be colorful and gender-neutral at the same time until I saw this color combination. I especially love the green and the orange.
