Boy/Girl Twin Nursery

Description

This is the nursery that I created for my boy/girl twins.

Design Inspiration

After finding out I was having boy/girl twins, I looked everywhere for nursery decor. It seemed like everything was too "neutral" or way too feminine. I mixed and matched fabrics from different nursery designers to create a look that I find to be a great space for a boy and a girl to share.

Decorating Style

I love classic looks with a little bit of whimsy thrown in.

Project Details

I was on bed rest for 7 weeks so this nursery was created almost entirely from my lap top! I ordered swatches from various nursery designers and found to my happy surprise that different designers had fabrics that coordinated. The bed sheets are from Serena and Lily (on major sale at the time), and the bed skirts were from Annette Tatum, but the green found it both was exactly the same.

I went budget on the cribs which I got from target and are Europa Baby. However, I got a more expensive dresser from Bonavita. Europa Baby is made from the same manufacture as Bonavita, so the white color matches exactly.

The glider is from Serena and Lily. It was a splurge but the hours spent in it have made this purchase worthwhile!!

The personalized mini lockers are perfect for storing toys and are from a boutique outside of Chicago, Babydreams.

Favorite Items

My favorite item is the "Keep Calm and Rock On" print, courtesy of Nuevo Designs, which can be found on Etsy. It reminds me to just take a deep breathe amidst the chaos, which is necessary after changing diapers all day!
