Description
A traditional, chic nursery for a little girl.
Design Inspiration
There were a few pieces of inspiration in this room. The Bonjour print and the buffalo check drapes were definitely two of our starting points.
Decorating Style
For this room the style was all about girly and sweet. The space was put together so that it felt traditional in color and patterns. Floral and matelasse were used in the textiles, with a touch of velvet.
Project Details
This room used two very known pieces of furniture:
Jenny Lind crib
Ikea Hemnes dresser
The glider was a reupholstered in a matelasse similar to this
Crib bedding was custom, fabric placement by me, constructed by client
La Vie En print above crib
Bonjour print by Amy Borrell
Full size bed bedding
Flash card printables
Drapes made from this duvet cover

Favorite Items
I love the way the glider came out. It is just the perfect place for memories to be made. And the drapes are the perfect backdrop to that corner. The framed song lyrics mean a lot to my client, as it is their wedding song. But the room as a whole turned out just how my client and I wanted it.
Advice
Try to look at items when shopping not for what they are, but for what you see. The pattern in the Ikea duvet was exactly what my client wanted as drapes, and it was far more cost effective to purchase the duvet and create it into something other then what it was. I think this advice allows others to shop in an entirely different way.

I so like the color of your walls! And that's a very soft-colored, sweet, feminine and dainty floral bedding!
