Blue, White & Red Owl Nursery

Description

This nursery took it's direction from the gorgeous tree painted on the blue feature wall. Red, navy & white accessories were added along with a number of owl items.

Design Inspiration

The tree was the feature and starting point for the room design.

Decorating Style

Contemporary & crisp. Red & white are featured through the residence and I was able to continue it into the nursery.

Project Details

I didn't spend alot of money on this nursery. Apart from the cot & changetable, nearly everything else was made by myself, family or friends or made over. The room was quite customised, the lamp is from Fantastic Furniture and I added red detail ribbon, I made the Owl prints & Owls on the tree by using different patterned paper, A family friend created Hugh blocks, my Grandma made the quilt, the antique dresser was inherited from my Nanny and my mum stripped & re-painted it. More details can be found on my website: www.nestdesignstudioblog.blogspot.com

Favorite Items

I love my handpainted tree. Before I feel pregnant with Hugh, I had a miscarrige and we had nick named the baby Apple. As a tribute to her, I painted a red apple on the tree. It's very special when I was regularly using the chair to feed Hugh to have that to look at.

Advice

You can do it! Alot of people feel overwhelmed and not sure where to start. Start with something you love & everything else will work with it.

The owls are just too cute! And they are in colors that match the dominant whites and grayish blue. This room is evidently made with lots of love from lots of people.

Awww. I love, love, love everything about your baby's nursery. From the colors, the owls, to that red apple on the tree. *Sniff* A lot of things in there have meaning and sentimental value to them.
