Benjiro’s Star Wars Nursery

Description

My husband and I have always been big Star Wars fans, so when we found out we were having a baby boy, the room theme was a no brainer for us! I knew that I wanted something modern, with lots of grey and some pops of color and fun.

The first thing we found was a great trio of Star Wars posters, which we designed the rest of the room around. The artwork was dark and mature, so I wanted to add lots of other fun pops of color and decor to help keep the room from looking too old. I started by choosing some basics from my favorite store, The Land of Nod. I found the Yellow Hatch sheet and knew that this was going to be the cornerstone of my color story; the yellow was amazing! I was able to find a changing pad cover and curtains to match, which I thought would be a great pop of color in the room.

We were decorating on a budget, so we reused our grey Hudson crib and changing table by Babyletto from my daughter's room...which I still absolutely love! I also reused an industrial locker style cubby we found at Urban Outfitters for my daughter, and found some great Pottery Barn Teen locker shelves on Craigslist to go with it. I love grey but I wanted to add something fun to the shelves to brighten it up. We got some colorful letters to spell out baby's name at The Land of Nod and added a few little Star Wars trinkets. My favorite little accent is the tin Chewbacca wind up doll.

My husband really wanted to include a decal over the crib with a line from the movie, which we found on Etsy and very painstakingly applied to our heavily textured wall. We found a couple other great pieces on Etsy, including a really fun BB8 nightlight and a custom quilt that really added the perfect addition of color.
