Bedroom for Our Buttercup

Description

A bright, calm & beautiful nursery for our new addition. We moved shortly after baby was born, so some of the pictures are before we painted in the new place but I included pictures of the old room so you could see the chevron wall.

Design Inspiration

We were looking to create a room that we wanted to spend time in (since we knew we'd be in there quite often), was "childish" but would grow with our baby girl and would fit in with the design style of the rest of our house. We weren't fans of a themed or character nursery, so we decided to go more with a color scheme. I saw a picture of a yellow/gray/blue nursery and fell in love. From there we found inspiration from other nurseries and just went with it.

Favorite Items

It really is hard to pic one thing that is my favorite in her room but if I had to pic, it would be her chevron wall. It was my "vision" (my husband had no faith that I could pull it off) and I put a lot of work into it. I love the way it turned out and kind of wish I had one in my bedroom. :)

Advice

There are so many great nurseries out there but you have to decide what YOU are really wanting. Find a design style that you love... whether that be a theme, color scheme, etc... and develop the room around that. Take your time! We are still editing our nursery and our little one is 6 months old. Don't be afraid to go for it! Have fun!

What etsy shop did you get the baby bedding?  Thanks!

    Dawn,

I don’t have a link or model number (we bought at a local children’s shop) but it is the Little Castle Capri Glider. Hope that helps!

Great nursery! Do you happen to have the model name/number or the link for the little castle glider?

    Lynn,

I used ButtercupForrest, but that shop is now closed… she merged with her mother’s shop: Cottage Belles. Here is the link to the shop I purchased from and it has details & links to their two different sites: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ButtercupForrest#

    Emily,

We used Behr Subtle touch (ceiling & stripes) & Gentle rain (all 4 walls). Here is a link to the color: http://www.behr.com/Behr/home#view=14;channel=EXPLORE;vgnextoid=6bd8ea6621ca5110VgnVCM1000008119fea9RCRD

Love the simple and modern style. Yellow really adds a cheery touch to a room.

Love that you took the chevron pattern to the wall! Can’t wait to see more photos when all the details are complete.
