Description
We’re frequently asked by our clients to create a nursery with beach-inspired elements—we chalk it up to our sunny Southern California location. We recently designed this beach-themed boy’s nursery for a client in Orange County, CA, filled with unique and highly customized elements.
Design Inspiration
Shown in the reflection of the adjoining bathroom mirror is the showpiece of the nursery—a fabulous oversize coral wall mural.
Project Details
While the aqua and orange color palette seems to be a reigning favorite among our client base, we refreshed the scheme by adding a beautiful sea-foam green with hints of turquoise to complement the bold coral orange. The sculptural coral mirror was forged in a custom finish, while safe and extra-lightweight starfish tapestries were hung over the crib. Finally, our client wanted to re-purpose an existing dresser to which we added a beautiful, handcrafted sea glass mosaic.
Favorite Items
The mosaic on the dresser is our most favorite element of this nursery - it's so unique!

As with any thematic nursery, keep the themed items simple and don't go "overboard".

[…] We don’t usually like orange, but in this space, it works. The ombre rug and the painted corals goes really well with the sea foam green walls and the brown. These colors represent what you see on the beach, which is probably the reason why the space looks totally great and well-put together. Photo via Project Nursery […]
I love this theme. Where did the crib bedding come from? Is there a website where it can be purchased?
Where can I find the wicker fish storage on the floor?

does anyone know the color and brand of the paint on the walls for this beautiful room?
Love this!!
I still haven’t figured out where the sheets came from (maybe they were custom, considering the fabric matches the throw pillows on the side chair?) but I’ve found that the crib skirt and bumper is Petunia Pickle Bottom “Imperial Fish”…
love the sheets where did you find them?
I Would love to knwo the names and brands of teh two blue walls. Thanks.
I love the whole room also!! We are actually thinking of modifying so we can make one very similar in our home… I was wondering about the mosiac sea glass…i was thinking of doing the similar look but to a very small door we have in the room leading into the attic. But everyone I’ve told about this project is worried the sea glass will be able (at some point ) to be pulled off by a toddler and swallowed!? Are those just glued on?
I came here to comment on the rug as well, although I love the entire room! I am feeling like I NEED TO HAVE THAT RUG. I did a search and found them on overstock – http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Hand-woven-Set-of-Two-Celle-Rugs-5-x-76/2033342/product.html?cid=123620.
Hi, I love the colors.
What is the brand and paint names for the 2 shades of turquoise and the orange paint?
I love this room, it captures the beachy feel perfectly! I especially love the rug, does anyone know where it came from?
That coral-framed mirror is just gorgeous! The changing table with the blue sea glass mosaic is really beautiful, too.
Stunning! I adore the wall art :)
Very cool and unique!
