Baby V’s Modern Nursery

Description

We wanted a modern and fun nursery for our little guy- something that could grow with him.  So we picked colors instead of a theme, found the gear crib bedding and fell in love, and had so much fun selecting pieces from there!

Design Inspiration

I scoured many nursery design sites and Etsy for inspiration photos and ideas for months before making any purchases or starting any DIY projects.  I found I loved blues with lime green and gray and just kept finding perfect items for the nursery to go with that color scheme.

Decorating Style

My husband and I both have a modern, clean-line decorating style.  We're still trying to get used to all the "stuff" in the nursery as the rest of our house is more minimal. :)  Guess it's preparing us for all the gear we'll have and continue acquiring as Baby grows.

Project Details

Dresser- Craigslist buy that we refinished

Crib mobile- DIY project inspired by similar ones on Etsy

Alphabet letters- wooden Etsy letters I hand-painted

Crib- Baby Mod Olivia in Espresso/White from Walmart

Shelves, rocking chair, rug, green stool, white photo frame- IKEA finds

Lamp, green bins- Target

Crib bedding- Gears by Skip Hop

Wall color- Upward by Sherwin Williams

Baby quilt and pillow- handmade by my mom (fabric from a local shop)

Favorite Items

My favorite part of the nursery is the alphabet wall.  I just love walking in and looking at all the different designs.  I think they really tie the space together with all their colors.  Hope Baby will enjoy looking at them as well!

Advice

My advice would be to research and have fun pulling design ideas and products from all over.  I spent quite a bit of time "playing" online finding pictures of things and items I liked to go in the nursery.  Then, don't be afraid of a DIY project!  We looked for a dresser for a looong time, and couldn't find one that worked for our space and budget.  Enter Craigslist- and I love the fact that we refinished it for Baby.  Make the nursery exactly how you want it! :)

Beautiful nursery. I'm expecting twin boys and of all the Pinterest scouring I've done, this is simply one of my favorites! Kudos to you

Nice modern nursery. I like your rocking chair and those Alphabet letters. Is that rocker comfortable?
