Baby S Nursery

Description

We are expecting our first child at the ripe old age of 40 ;) I was very 'girlie-girl' as a child but didn't want to go too overboard with pink in our daughters nursery. I mixed and matched different hues of pale pink, green, and white with neutrals for a calming effect. I purchased fabrics and made my own valances and crib skirt and bedding. The materials match the embroidery circles on the wall.

Design Inspiration

My initial inspiration came from embroidery circles I saw on Pinterest. I went to JoAnn fabrics and found many cute fabric pieces on clearance and made a collage in complimenting colors. The rest of the design evolved from there.

Project Details

The bedding and window treatments I made myself with help from tutorials on Pinterest. The changing table was made by my brother in law. The chair side table was purchased at IKEA and spray painted white. Chair and ottoman were a relative bargain- Enchanted glider purchased off Walmart website for only $500 for the pair. Shelving above changing table from Target. Pink pillow on chair from TJMaxx. Other accessories from Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics, including a mix of things I already had.

Advice

Nurseries don't have to cost a lot of money! By using hand me downs and making my own bedding, I achieved a one-of-a-kind nursery without spending a lot of money!
