Calm, cool, clean, light & breezy nursery.

Design Inspiration

I wanted a calm, cool, clean, light, breezy feel for the room.

Decorating Style

Traditional

Project Details

The bedding was where I started. I found fabric first and then found paint to match. You can find paint in ANY color.

I made the crib bumper with Velcro straps to connect it to the crib instead of ties because I was going for a clean look.

I also made the bumper in 2 equal pieces and made them connect in the middle. I connected them with a button and elastic. Again, going for a clean look.

I love how the dresser turned out! It started out as a dresser without legs. I added legs that I bought from Lowe's so it would be high enough for a changing table. Then added some left over baseboard to the bottom edge, to cover up the ugliness of the added legs and to give it a nice finish. Then some sanding and some purple paint. Oh, I removed the handles, painted them silver and slapped them back on.

We took down the closet doors, put up a silver curtain rod and added two layers of curtain. The top is a patterned sheer and the second layer is just white. So we can still "close" the closet.

Favorite Items

This is my absolute favorite thing about the baby's room are the decorative pillows!

Do you know what the paint color is that you used for the walls? I love it!

Emily,

I think it's by Pat Bravo. And I bought it in Newton Kansas for like 10.50/yard. But you can go online and find her fabric. I think Hawthorne threads carries her stuff and I think their pricing isn't too bad.
