Description
Clean and soft with pops of color with new and old pieces.
Design Inspiration
I found an adorable sock monkey that had great colors of aqua, orange and green and he really inspired me. I also wanted a room that was primarily white with pops of color. So my challenge was merging my two ideas...fresh, clean colors with a neutral background.
Decorating Style
I like clean lines with modern touches, but as a Southerner I also love traditional elements.
Project Details
The major elements in the room came from local vendors, while I did utilize the Internet and Big Retailers for some accent pieces.
Crib- Bonavita.
Glider- Rowe furniture glider.
Pouf- Privet for Target.
All baskets- Privet for Target.
Chest/Changing Table- Charles Phillips Antiques.
Mirrors- Target. Custom paint color.
Shelves and Picture Frames- Target
Armoire- Atchison Imports.
Antique Iron Bed from my childhood.
All fabrics came from Richtex Fabrics www.buyfabrics.com.
My mother in law made the bumper pads, crib skirt and dust ruffle. Richtex Fabrics made all of the pillows.
The abstract paintings were a gift from my Aunt.
Favorite Items
My favorite things in the room have to be the pillows. They bring the whole look together and add that pop of color I was looking for in my neutral room.
Advice
I wanted a neutral background so it would be easy to change for a second child. The major pieces of furniture and bedding in the room are neutral enough where I can change the accent pillows and accessories for my next child without having to redo an entire nursery. I also didn't want a room that was too "baby" because I wanted the room to be able to grow with him.
So perfect. Love that it’s baby but not baby. Can definitely see this transitioning into a big boy room. LOVE the bolster. What size is that if you don’t mind sharing. Congrats! Not much longer now!
Soooo cute!
Good job! I like the shelf over the bed. The mirrors are great
The abstract paintings are lovely. the colors you chose make the room looks so fresh, airy, minty and so relaxing.
beautiful job!
Love it!
