Baby Landry’s Modern Safari Nursery

A modern safari themed nursery for a stylish baby boy. We wanted to design something fun yet calming for both baby and mommy.

Design Inspiration

The giant stuffed giraffe was the inspiration for the entire room. I found it on Amazon and thought it would be so cute in our baby boy's nursery. From there we knew wanted to do something safari themed but still modern.

Project Details

The crib is the Kendall Crib from Pottery Barn, we actually purchased the crib before we knew the gender of our baby. I knew I wanted a white crib to create a clean and modern look no matter what the gender was. The crib bedding also came from Pottery Barn. The airplane mobile is from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child, I thought it would be a cute addition to the safari theme. I knew I wanted a bookcase in the nursery because I wanted reading and books to be a big part of our baby's life. I purchased the bookcase and the tall floor lamp behind the glider from Target. The glider came from Baby & Kid's 1st Furniture in Houston. The navy lamp on the dresser, the large wall letters above the crib and the safari figurines came from Hobby Lobby. I purchased the custom prints framed above the dresser from the etsy seller, Rizzle & Rugee. We had the dresser custom made since my husband and I are both really tall. I love the contrast of the white crib and the dark brown dresser. The child size rocking chair holds a special place in my heart because was mine when I was a little girl, I had it refinished and now it looks brand new.

Favorite Items

I would have to say the stuffed giraffe and the child's rocking chair.

Advice

I would just say go for things you love and make you happy. You really want your nursery to be a relaxing place for you and the baby so it needs to be a room you love.
