Baby Girl’s Hand Me Down, DIY, One of a Kind (Kinda) Nursery

Description

We set out to recreate and modify existing pieces, spaces, and must haves to build a space that is both relaxing and inspiring for our baby girl.

Design Inspiration

This nursery was a labor of love and may look familiar to many of you viewers. We took our inspiration from a previous project from January 2012, titled "Aqua, Pink, and Green Whimsical Nursery." We loved the bedding and wall color and went about filling in our space with unique diy redos, hand me down pieces, and garage sale finds to make it our own.

Favorite Items

My favorite item in this room is the changing table armoire. It was a DIY project tackled by me and the hubby and turned out exactly as I had envisioned it. I love all of the organization and function it provides and its ability to be modified to fit baby girl's needs as she grows!

And, well, the closet... because what girl wouldn't love to have that closet?!?!

Advice

Take your time filling in the space. I chose to use existing pieces from my older sons (the crib, rocking chair, side table) and mix them in with craigslist finds to create a fun, unique space. Don't get stuck on matchy-matchy. Remember it is ok to collect the perfect pieces as you go and in the end you will have a space that is all your own (even if your original inspiration came from a previous post :)!
