Baby D’s Nursery

Description

Colorful nursery full of DIY projects especially for our Baby Girl! We started out with colors in pink, orange and green and then somewhere along the way, an owl theme developed. See all the details on our blog at: http://jahjong.blogspot.com/2010/08/nursery-reveal.html

Design Inspiration

Quilt block made by my great-grandmother and Amy Butler quilt design were the two things that got everything going.

Decorating Style

I like fun use of color, creative projects, and non-traditional patterns for babies.

Project Details

All of the resources are listed in our blog post (link above), but here are some highlights: Room color - Mythic Paint - Australian Adventure. Curtains - Land of Nod, pink multi-ruffle curtains - fabric on top sewn by friend. Lighting - Land of Nod, orange pendant "Hangin' Around Lamp"

Favorite Items

My absolute favorite item is the chair and ottoman. I found the chair on the side of the road and the ottoman was just $25.00 at an antique store. I bought some wonderful upholstery fabric and a friend made the slipcover. We just adore it!

Advice

Be creative. Create a budget. Shop around and ask for advice from friends to try to re-create expensive items or projects. Anything you do yourself will end up being what you are most proud of!
