Twin nursery

Design Inspiration

All the great ideas I saw on this and other sites.  We wanted something modern and fun and didn't want it to be overtly baby.

Decorating Style

Modern & Whimsical

Project Details

I spent a lot of time researching cribs.  We needed two and they had to be environmentally safe.  There's a ton in the expensive category and not so many in the middle to lower range.  We settled with Modo by Babyletto, we got their organic mattress too.  I also needed a bigger dresser/changer than what was available in the baby furniture category.  We settled for this one from Crate & Barrell.  Etsy was my best friend.  The bedding is from there - custom ordered (http://www.etsy.com/shop/fingersandtoes) as well as the pouf (http://www.etsy.com/shop/aletafae?ref=seller_info) and the crochet eel (custom ordered to look like our pet) and squid (http://www.etsy.com/shop/AngDavidson?ref=seller_info.)  The art is all pieces that we had except for the Marimekko fabric which I stretched.

Favorite Items

Honestly, seven weeks in with twins, my favorite things are not decorative: sound machine, sleep wedge, bouncer, and pacifier.  Decoratively, I'd say the eel and our art.  We really are happy with the cribs too.

Advice

Take time and look around the web for ideas and inspiration.  It's easy to blend new with DIY and reused.

Love your room! You did an amazing job! Are you happy with the dresser from Crate and Barrel?

Aww... your twins are so cute! I like the that the room is yellow and it looks real sunny. It doesn't do a great job of highlighting whatever artworks or whimsies you hang on the wall though.

It's really cool that you chose eco-friendly cribs. The room is charming. And with having twins, it is very understandable that your "favorite items" are not decorative but those with practical uses.
