Aurélie Delicate Nursery

Description

Aurélie is our first baby and I wanted her room to be very special and cosy. I spend all my pregnancy doing research to find the perfect fit for this special princess. I wanted the room to be in calming colors with special accents and a delicate look. I didn't wanted a design than everyone can buy or something ordinary. Every details was thinking and choosing with love and care by me.

Design Inspiration

I've made a lot of research on Pinterest to find the colors and the look I wanted. I spend many hours on Etsy to find special items like the quilt, the doors knobs or idea to DIY like the burlap garland, etc.

Decorating Style

I love vintage furniture and the traditional look. I like to spend my days off in search of old furniture than I can transform to have a new look for half the money. I'm also in love with traditional vintage items like the flowers quilt on the crib or the old dynamite boxe.

Favorite Items

My favorite item will be the crib because it took me 6 months to find it in Canada. It was so hard to get and I wanted this look so bad. I also love the digital art on the wall because it represent some of my favorites movies and I can't wait to watch them with my daughter. And I can't forget the quilt because it was my inspiration for the match of colors I choose for the room.

Advice

For me it's important to do some research before starting anything. This way you know a little bit what you like and what you dont. You will build slowly in your head the idea of your nursery, it will save you time latter. Don't be afraid to do thing by yourself to save some money. It will also bring nice memories because you've taken the time to do this for your precious bundle of joy while he was in your belly. Also, don't be afraid to paint furniture or transform them if they are not the good color or shape.
