Arlie’s Whimsical and Shabby Chic Nursery

Description

I am a mother of two boys and I am finally having my girl! As soon as I found out I started planning. I knew I wanted something whimsical and shabby chic. I found items here and there and slowly started to create this vision in my head. I found the wall paper online and I loved it! That was the biggest purchase for the room. The changing table was actually a DIY. I scored an old door for $25 bucks, tested it for lead, chipped off the big chunks of peeling paint then made a white wash and painted one coat of my whitewash over it. I then took all my measurements and drew up my design. My husband, boys and I took a quick trip to Home Depot and purchased the wood we would need to create the table and shelf. We brought it all home in my mini van??. Hubby cut everything I drew up I sanded and stained it then he put it all together! The fact that I started and completed this project all while 9 months Preggo is a pretty awesome accomplishment! And not to mention, I LOVE the way it turned out!! A lot of the decor in the nursery I made as well. The mirror hanging on the whitewashed boards, the stained wood deer head, the head band holders on the dresser,  the bed skirt and the mobile all handmade by me! Her crib bedding was the one other pricey item in her room. I figured we already had the furniture why not splurge and get what I really want!! I got it from this amazing little company called rockin rollick. Check out her website when you get the chance. Amazing products and the best quality! Most of my other purchases were made at target, hobby lobby or thrifty boutiques.
