Annabelle’s Nursery

Description

I spent a lot of time imagining the perfect space for my little baby girl. I wanted something soothing but colorful and fun. I knew I'd be spending a lot of time in the nursery in the coming months! While I was pregnant I did everything from the painting to woodworking projects with my dad to make the space special. It turned out just how I imagined and I love playing with baby Annabelle in the room every morning!

Design Inspiration

I scoured pinterest, projectnursery.com and other DIY sites for inspiration. I saw a beautiful gray and purple nursery on this site that helped me decide on colors. And I knew I wanted to incorporate animals, particularly giraffes and elephants, to make it fun and playful.

Project Details

My dad and I designed and made the picture frames and peg rack (even the pegs themselves!). The dresser/changing table is mine from when I was a baby. I repainted it and added drawer pulls (Lowes).

Favorite Items

I love the bookshelves we bought from Ikea. At my shower, we had all of the guests sign and bring their favorite childrens' books instead of cards. Each person signed the books and wrote messages to Annabelle. I can't wait to read all of the books to her and explain who each came from! We also have a few other special things on the shelves including two elephants I cut from wood and painted, a copy of an Irish blessing and an alphabet booked also made at my shower.
